Creature Mark & Phrase
The goal was to create a simple yet professional logo mark based on a geometric framework that evokes certain physical and associative attributes. We expanded on this by creating an interpretative visual representation of a phrase written for our creature.
Visual Research
I compiled images and analyzed the physical traits of the flamingo, targeting just a few to maintain clarity and simplicity.

Pen/Pencil Sketches
After creating a list of both physical and associative characteristics to display through my mark, I sketched out and experimented with different structural frameworks and poses to digitize later.
Physical Attributes
• Long, skinny legs
• Long, flexible neck
• Feathers
• Large, curved beak

Associative Attributes
• Elegant
• Sassy
• Flamboyant
Digital Iterations
When translating to the computer, I started with a raw framework that just consisted of line and shape. From there, I filled in shapes and modified the framework to emphasize my target attributes and maintain continuity while iterating.

Ideation for Phrase Composition - Pencil & Digital Sketches
These compositions are intended to refer to the golden ratio, and all elements added are shapes and forms included in the original creature mark to create cohesion and continuity.
Application of Color & Further Ideation
After thinking about the color palette, I felt my initial sketches were a bit too literal, so I ideated further to create compositions that would be more cohesive with color and guide the eye through space.
Iterations
I selected one of my color palettes and directions, and experimented with elements such as hue, saturation, value, type size, placement, and scale of my creature mark. These changes resulted in a stronger hierarchy and depth of field.
