Poster Series
This project aimed to create three successful and cohesive posters intended to work as a series to promote three poets from Ohio. Using an experimental process, I was able to develop an innovative outcome that communicates each of these poets' messages.
Research
The first step in my process was to familiarize myself with the poets' backgrounds, styles, and ideas portrayed through their work.

Project Brief
After research, I identified the concept and audience to which I wanted to communicate.
Concept: My main concept is to celebrate the advocacy represented through poetry and the power in these poets' backgrounds.
Connected, expressive, sensory, identifiable, inspirational
Audience: The audience of my poster series is urban and rural Ohio college students involved in the arts, whether they are designers, fine art majors, musicians, creative writers, or actors. This event is meant for them. I imagine this event would attract large and small universities across Ohio so that the posters would live on the walls of college campuses statewide. This event matters because it speaks to the multitude of ways to convey art and important personal messages, as all three of these Ohio poets come from different creative backgrounds and use their poetry to advocate for their backgrounds.
Experimental Physical Ideation Studies
To start the ideation process, I made a series of quick physical ideations, not focusing on creating a poster but rather interesting visuals that could later become posters.

Directions & Iterations
I chose two compositions from my ideations and began making posters, applying the information and context, starting with just one of the poets.
